One of the projects I’ve been involved with over the past several months is The Military Bugler-The Complete Guide to Bugling.

The work is finished, mostly due to the efforts of Kevin Paul, Ryan Brewer, Davy DeArmond, and Andrew Bishop. Those guys did the heavy lifting on this, and it’s ready for publication just in time for the International Trumpet Guild at the Eastman School of Music at the end of this month.

Written from a military bugler’s point of view, it contains some good information and historical background. It was nice to get some nice reviews from top players.

If you are a bugler or are interested in bugling, this will be a good book to have. And if you are auditioning for a military band position, knowledge of bugling will be helpful.
