Above is a 20 minute video from Taps For Veterans. It is a thank you from Taps For Veterans and an overview of the highly successful TAPS ACROSS AMERICA event on Memorial Day 2020. Our deepest thanks to everyone who participated. We could not have done this without you! We are sending emails to the wonderful folks who have supported this event with their kind donations. If you made a donation, THANK-YOU!! If somehow I missed sending one, to you please know we are thankful for you!

We are also putting together the mailing for the TAPS FOR VETERANS patches. At the start we thought this event would only get 500-1000 buglers but we wound up with over 4300! And that’s not counting the thousands who didn’t register but played at 3 pm for the Moment of Remembrance. We only have about 1,000 TFV patches on hand but thanks to the donations that came in I’ve ordered enough to cover everyone. We really wish to send these out in our thank-you letter to you as an expression of our gratitude for you being part of this. Please allow us to do that for you. We should have them all mailed out before Independence Day.

If you wish to have extra patches please send a stamped, self addressed envelope and we will send as many as you need.
Send your request to Taps For Veterans 124 Maiden Choice Lane Baltimore Maryland 21228

Donations have been wonderful. THANK YOU!
The costs involved with TAPS ACROSS AMERICA came to around $5000. This includes the mailing of patches, stamps, printing, mailing labels for sending out 4000 letters and associated IT costs. Mailing of the patches is important to us as we wish to express our gratitude for all volunteers.

As we push ahead we could use your support as we make plans to have TAPS ACROSS AMERICA on Memorial Day, Monday May 31 at 3 pm. TAPS FOR VETERANS is also planning a very special event in 2021. More to come on that.

Plus we are looking at upgrading the TAPS FOR VETERANS website and adding new features to enable making it easy for anyone to request a bugler for a funeral or ceremony.

All this requires funding. Especially with the IT costs. So any help is more than appreciated!

A Taps For Veterans Event

THE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

WE ARE LOOKING FOR BUGLERS TO SOUND TAPS
SIGN UP FOR THE EVENT AT

The National Moment of Remembrance is an annual event that asks Americans, wherever they are at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day, to pause for a duration of one minute to remember those who have died in military service to the United States. The time 3 p.m. was chosen because it is the time when most Americans are enjoying time off from work for the national holiday. The Moment was first proclaimed in May 2000 for Memorial Day that year, and was put in law by the United States Congress in December 2000.

Because of the current health crisis the United States has been forced to cancel almost all annual commemorations which include ceremonies, wreath-laying and parades.

It would be fitting to remember those who died in service to our country as well as those who have died of the COVID-19 virus and also to honor those who are on the front lines battling the disease by sounding Taps on Memorial Day, May 25th at 3 pm (local). You can sound the call from your home, porch, or on your front lawn. We would advise against asking folks to gather in any type of group. Maybe you can tell your neighbors to open their windows.

Make a video after you perform and post it online on the TAPS FOR VETERANS FACEBOOK PAGE

Once again, due to orders in many states against any types of gathering, I suggest you sound the call from your front porch or driveway.

How to get involved:

Make sure you practice Taps
